“My name is Ana Kurist, born 1990 in Tallinn. I am a portrait artist, who creates both drawings and paintings. As a person, I am a sensitive dreamer and an emotional introvert, which in turn is definitely reflected in my art. I always knew I wanted to draw people, especially women. I love expressive poses and facial expressions, colors and lack of color. Bold lines play a big part in my work, and I really like when perfection-seeking realism and casual abstraction or apparent sloppiness meet. My art is inspired by strong emotions, feelings, songs and their words and, of course, love.
In art, I have found a way to express myself without the need for words. At the same time, I believe that everyone sees art differently and has a personal connection and story with it, which can be very different from the author's.”
