Maria Evestus

Maria Evestus is a painter whose allegorical paintings and prints magically intertwine nature and humanity. Her layered mixed media techniques combine collage, acrylic painting, and various materials, creating dreamlike illustrative universes. Inspired by archetypes, Nordic nature, and contrasts, Evestus uses nostalgic elements and symbols as a gateway into the viewer's subconscious. Her fantastic beings, drawn from the mythological past and the dream world of today, float through scenes of metamorphosis, where elements of nature pulse with inner energy. The artist consciously addresses the collective subconscious of viewers through familiar symbols, often derived from fairy tales and legends, sometimes mixed with pop culture elements from recent decades. These timeless stories with open endings invite the viewer to place themselves within the works as a bold adventurer or a wise storyteller.
