Art as an Investment for the Future: Victoria Olt Gallery Offered a Platform for Emerging Artists' Works as Investment Opportunities

Until December 23rd, the Victoria Olt Gallery in Tallinn's Old Town hosted a new group exhibition titled "Your First Art Collection". This exhibition invited visitors to view art as a valuable investment for the future. The show featured a diverse selection of works created by both seasoned artists and those who were just beginning their artistic journeys. With accessible prices and a wide range of artistic techniques on display, it provided an opportunity for everyone to discover art that resonates with them.

"Art Collection Starter" was the final exhibition of 2023 at Victoria Olt Gallery, marking a significant conclusion to the gallery’s annual program. The focus of this group exhibition was to help individuals find artwork that would serve as a starting point for investing in art. The exhibition introduced young artists from both Estonia and around the world, showcasing a versatile array of styles, techniques, prices, and sizes to ensure that every visitor could find a piece that suited their taste and budget.

According to gallery owner and curator Victoria Olt, the exhibition was an excellent opportunity for those who had never purchased art before and were hesitant to make the wrong choice. "At this exhibition, visitors had the chance to seek guidance and select works either from already established artists or from talented emerging artists who are at the beginning of their careers," Olt explained, emphasizing the exhibition's goal of providing reassurance and confidence to new collectors.

In addition to promoting art as a worthwhile investment, Victoria Olt expressed her desire to raise awareness among Estonians that art is not just something for gallery walls but should be a part of everyday life in the home, where it can inspire daily. "Art is an investment like any other," she noted, "and this exhibition aimed to encourage people to start their investment journey." To make art more accessible, the gallery also offered installment plans, making it easier and more affordable for those who may have previously thought art was out of their reach.

The exhibition showcased a variety of styles, including traditional acrylic and oil paintings, watercolors, and drawings. For the first time, the gallery walls also featured photography and calligraphy, expanding the range of mediums on display. Artists from Estonia, the UK, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Italy participated, highlighting the gallery’s international scope.

The list of participating artists was impressive and included names such as Marita Liivak, Riso Chan, Maria Evestus, Kelli Pai, Tomasz Mro, Julia Valtanen, Agnes Cecile, Ksenia Sulaeva, Victoria Olt, Eliis Kuusk, Ana Kurist, Andrius Butvilas, Kseniia Antipina, Ahad Mahmood, Maari Soekov, Väino Õun, Ricu, Magdalena Bukowska, Martin Kosseson, Kadri Tiganik, Raido Väinsaar, and Magdalena Olechny.
