I Don’t Want To / "Ma ei taha" Liisa Addi

As a child, I constantly had to conform to others' wishes, and this led to the development of a coping mechanism: if I behave in a way that pleases others, I will survive. This is an incredibly exhausting and traumatic behavior pattern, which, by the time I reached adulthood, left me feeling like I didn’t even know what my own needs and interests were. By learning to say no to others, I am now learning what my boundaries and needs are.
