Grief / "Lein" Liisa Addi

Along with self-discovery comes not only curiosity but also a lot of grief. In society, grief is often seen as a 'negative' emotion, but that’s not the case at all. Letting go of a part of myself, the person I have lived as my whole life before my diagnoses, is one thing... But many people who receive a diagnosis later in life also grieve over who they could have been if they had been diagnosed and received the right help as a child, and hadn’t experienced all that trauma. For me, this grief will last a lifetime, as there are always new triggers that bring back those thoughts… Who would I be today if my needs had been supported?
